Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This is the privacy policy for The Manly Things (“we,” “us,” “the site”). It explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, contact us.
What we collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp. Used for security and uptime monitoring. Retained 30 days.
- Analytics. If we add analytics in the future (e.g. privacy-respecting tools like Plausible or Fathom), it will be anonymous and disclosed here.
- Email correspondence. If you email us, we keep your email and the conversation. We don’t add you to any list.
- Comments. If commenting is enabled, your name, email, and comment text are stored alongside the article. Email is not displayed publicly.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell data. Period.
- We don’t run third-party advertising trackers.
- We don’t share your information with affiliate networks.
- We don’t use cross-site tracking pixels.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only — for example, to keep an admin logged in. No advertising cookies. If a third-party embed (e.g. an embedded video) sets cookies, that third party’s policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what we have on you.
- Delete it.
- Correct it.
Email [email protected]. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top and note what changed. Material changes get a banner on the homepage for at least 14 days.
